Found 200 km (124 mi) south of the Arctic Circle comfortable Northwest Territories, the Great Bear Lake is the biggest lake in Canada, the fourth biggest in North America and the eighth on the planet. The Great Bear Lake is 320 km (199 mi) long, up to 175 km (109 mi) wide and 413 m (1355 ft) profound. 

One noteworthy disclosure found in this lake is the mineral containing radium and uranium called pitchblende. A portion of the mineral mined here were utilized to make nuclear bombs by the US in World War II . After the stores diminished because of continuous mining, the site was surrendered, leaving just the group of Deline. 

It is perfect to visit the lake amongst July and August , the main times of the year where the climate is steady. Various untamed life can be seen around the range like the Musk-bulls, Caribou, Barren Ground Grizzly Bears, Bald and Golden Eagles, Gyrfalcons and water feathered creatures.
