The most profound lake in North America, the Great Slave Lake is situated at the Northwest Territories of Canada. The lake's name is gotten from the First Nations indigenous tribe, the Slavey individuals who initially possessed around the lake and set up the town of Dettah and others. 

The Great Slave Lake is 480 km (300 mi) long, runs 19 to 109 km (12 to 68 mi) wide, and 614 m (2,010 ft) profound. It has a surface range of 27,200 sq. km (10,502 sq. mi).
